Hi, I'm Maria! I recently relocated to Amsterdam from Greece, and I'm now pursuing my PhD in urban planning. I live with my boyfriend and our lovely dog Yugi (the white one in the photo)! I work mostly from home, so your pet will have a calm and attentive companion! I've been a dog mum for ten years to a sweet stray Rwmi (the beige one), which I rescued during my student years. She came to me frightened and anxious, and with patience and love, she became one of the happiest, most trusting dogs I know. That experience taught me how to read animals and make nervous pets feel safe! Over the years I've also cared for many of my friends' dogs and cats during their travels, including senior animals and pets needing medication, and I volunteered with a pet-friendly organization in Greece, where I helped with daily care and socialisation.

Every pet is different, so I always take time during the meet-and-greet to learn about your pet's personality, routines, and preferences — what calms them, what excites them, their feeding schedule, walking habits, favourite toys, and any quirks or sensitivities. I follow your routines as closely as possible so your pet feels at home with me. For emergencies, I always ask owners in advance for the contact details of their preferred vet, any medical history, and any specific instructions in case of illness or injury. I stay calm under pressure, act quickly, and keep owners informed the whole time. I'm also experienced with administering medication when needed.

I offer dog walking (30 or 60 minutes), home visits for cats, doggy day care at the owner's home, and overnight house sitting. Walks include water, treats, plenty of attention, and photo updates so you can see how your pet is doing. Home visits cover feeding, fresh water, litter or quick play, and companionship. During house sitting, I'm present for the majority of the day and night, leaving pets alone for no more than 3–4 hours at a time, so they have steady company, regular walks, and a familiar rhythm throughout your trip.

I'm available mornings, midday, and evenings on weekdays, with flexible availability on weekends. I have especially open availability over the summer for holiday travel and longer bookings. Last-minute requests are welcome and I'll always do my best to accommodate. I cover my neighbourhood (Oosterpark) and nearby areas reachable by bike within about 15–20 minutes. I always do a meet-and-greet before the first booking so you and your pet can decide whether we're a good fit. I speak English, Italian, and Greek. Looking forward to meeting you both!
