Hello! My name is Jordan and I'm a Canadian woman in my 30s who has lived in Finland for 5 years. I am currently learning Finnish in part-time online classes alongside my part-time job - though dog commands are some of the first Finnish words I learned! My husband, Markus, is Finnish born and raised and speaks both Finnish and English fluently.

Both Markus and I are huge dog lovers. I have had pets in my extended family and belonging to friends of mine throughout my whole life. In my early 20s, I rescued an elderly beagle who was a retired hunting dog chained up outside 24/7, so she got to enjoy her last couple years of life comfortably and with lots of love. Markus' sister had a husky/white shepherd mix who he helped with for years, as did I during my first couple years in Finland - in 2022, we had her in our home for a combined total of 5 months! And currently, my close friend in Finland has two dachshunds, one of whom is elderly and fairly high-needs, who we often watch for a week or more while she travels multiple times a year. So, we have experience with dogs of different ages, breeds, and emotional and medical needs, and we love them all and can guarantee that we will treat your pet like they're our own.

My part-time job is outside of the home though just a few hours a day on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, but my Finnish classes are online, so your dogs will almost never be left alone - only for about 3 hours before my husband or I return from work. However, I am off work during June and July, so during these months, your dogs can have somebody with them constantly. We can guarantee them walks 3-4 times a day - mostly shorter ones, with one or two longer ones on fairly quiet trails for 30-90 minutes. This can certainly be flexible if you just communicate with us their needs and normal routine, and we will try to match it. We will happily send daily updates with pictures (taking cute dog pictures is one of my favourite things!) 

Our home is big enough for two medium/small dogs but not more than one large dog (which is a little sad, because we love large breeds especially!) We live on an upper floor and don't have an elevator, so the dog must either be able to use stairs, or be small enough to be carried.

For the safety of all pets, only vaccinated animals are accepted in our home.
