(1) Basic information

I am currently a postgraduate student at the University of Tampere, Finland, specializing in Statistical Data Science.I am graduating in 2024 and intend to stay in Finland and start my own business after graduation.I received my undergraduate and first postgraduate degrees in the UK in 2011-2015.I worked in the financial investment industry in my home country (China) in 2016-2022.The year 2022 was a turning point in my life, as I came to Finland in August. I love this quiet and beautiful country and would like to live here for a long time.

I am willing to take any inquiries in Helsinki A and B zone.

(2) Motivation

- Love small animals

My biggest motivation for wanting to become a pet sitter is that I really love small animals. There are a lot of people in Finland who love dogs, and you can often meet people walking their dogs on the street, as well as special dog parks. This makes me enjoy walking around in my free time and seeing more of these cute little creatures.

- Enough free time

I am a student now and I have enough free time. I want to use my free time to help people who don't have time to take care of their pets or play with them because of unexpected circumstances.

- Getting some income

There is a cat cafe in Helsinki and I often go there and stand in front of the door for a long, long time looking at the cats. Why don't I go in? Because I'm still a student and my income is quite low. That's another reason why I want to become a pet sitter, I want to get some income from this favorite part-time job.

(3) Previous experience

I had a pet once, she was a British shorthair cat, I had her for 3 years and she was like my family. However, since I came to Finland, which is very strict about exotic animals, and the fact that this kind of cat is very timid and her heart are not very good, I was worried that her traveling by airplane would give her health problems. So, my mom helped me to keep her. I think it's just as sad to leave a pet as it is to leave a family member.

Getting a pet is a big decision. Once you decide to keep her, you are responsible for her whole life. So I decided that I would make it a rule that I could not have a pet until I was granted permanent residency in Finland, i.e. until my life was fully stabilized. I think this is the responsible thing to do.

In all honesty though, at the moment I only know a little bit about cats' habits, not so much about dogs.

I know that each pet has its own preferences, and I am more than willing to learn about each pet, respect each pet's habits, and hopefully become good friends with them.

(4) About vaccines

I think I can accept all pets, vaccinated and unvaccinated.
