HUOM: I don't own a car or have a driver's license yet, so unfortunately I'm not able to travel further than 5 km from the center of Vaasa.
Hello, dog parent :)
My name is Marina and I have recently moved to Vaasa from Turku with my husband and my lovely dog Leia. My story as a dog parent started here, at Pawshake - I used to babysit dogs for a year before finally getting my own labrador retriever pup. After taking a break of about 2 years to take care of my own dog (and, well, because of corona), I again have some free time to take care of other people's dogs.
At the moment, I am doing my PhD in Education in which I'm focusing on dog-assisted reading programs. This means that during the days I am mostly reading and writing and most probably would be able to find some time to go for a walk with your dog. Moreover, if you need someone to babysit your dog at your placeduring the day (8:00 - 16:00) feel free to contact me. I can play with your dog, feed her, go for walks and if you want, teach her some simple tricks. I'll study for my PhD on my laptop while your dog is resting. This option is good for puppy parents and those, who have anxious dogs who don't like to stay alone for long periods of time.
I have learned a great deal about dogs and their behaviour since I got Leia, so I can find ways to communicate and have fun witha range of dog breeds and sizes, but not with aggressive dogs. I love dogs and find spending time with them to be a rewarding experience, so I'd like the dog to feel the same.
I also have experience taking care of cats as I used to have two cats in Saint-Petersburg, where I am originally from. So, if you need to leave town for a couple of days or a week, I can visit your cat, feed her, scratch her, clean after her and make sure she is alright.
In my free time, I like knitting and exploring new surroundings. If your short-haired dog needs a winter sweater, we can play with that!
If you have any questions or requests, please, contact me through personal messages. I speak Russian, English and French good enough to handle communication fluently, but if you feel more comfortable, I can also speak some Swedish or Finnish (you'd have to be patient about my mistakes, though).
Hope to hear from you soon!
Marina
Marina took great care of Bella and sent me messages and photos detailing everything during her visit. Bella seems to have enjoyed Marina’s company and, from such a fussy princess of a cat, that’s very high praise indeed👌😉
Marina and Mike are great hosts. They did a great job with Cooper. My dog is a good boy, though he tends to be temperamental at times. However, they took good care of him and we did not have any problems at all. They were in contact with me at all times and sent me pictures and videos of Cooper.
They also were very interested in knowing all the things related to him. I recommend their services 100%! :)
