My name is Laura, I am 31 years old. I come from Germany and live since 6 years in Helsinki and work in business operations at a software company. I live alone in a calm neighborhood with a dog park only ten minutes away and several pet-friendly areas nearby where I enjoy walking and spending time outdoors. My two-room apartment is bright, quiet, and located on the fifth floor with an elevator, making it safe and comfortable for dogs. Guest pets can sleep on a blanket next to my bed to feel close and secure.

I have loved dogs since I was a child and took every opportunity to spend time with them. My closest experience has been with my best friend’s poodle, to whom I became a loving “auntie.” Over the past 12 years, I have also followed German dog trainer shows, learning how to read dogs’ body language and understand their needs. I am passionate about going for walks, supporting training, and following each owner’s guidance carefully. I prefer friendly, well-behaved dogs who stay calm indoors and enjoy human interaction.

As a sitter, my motivation is to give love and receive the positivity and attention dogs naturally share. I want to prepare myself for having my own dog one day and, as a single person, I value being surrounded by a companion I can care for. I reflect critically on my own behavior to ensure I always provide the best care and understanding for each dog.

I am interested in only one dog at a time.

I work remotely on Fridays and can ensure I am with the dog the entire day. If the dog is relaxed and social, I can also take it to the office on other days. Pet care fits perfectly into my routine, as I spend at least three active hours per day with the dog, ensuring attention, structure, and affection. During dog boarding, dogs are never left alone for longer than three hours, and during daycare no longer than for a short grocery shopping.

For dog walking, I can go on walks after work (16:30 onwards) on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. I prefer going for walks in the center area of Helsinki. I offer walks lasting max 1 to 1.5 hours, typically around the Hiezu/Töölölahti area, where there are calm routes and green spaces. Also going by public to Lauttasaari is possible. I can administer simple oral medication if needed and help with basic training and reinforcing rules or tricks you already use. I do not offer grooming services.

For home boarding and daycare, I accept only one dog at a time to ensure full attention and care.

I am motivated by creating a safe, loving, and structured environment for dogs that allows them to feel comfortable and understood. Every interaction with a dog enriches my day and reminds me why caring for them brings genuine joy and balance.
