Hi!
I live next to a prime dog-walking route, the Rantaraitti, in a semi-detached home without any resident pets (at the moment).
I've grown up in a dog-owning family and have been around dogs all my life. I speak english and basic dog swedish and finnish :)
Other animals I've learned how to care for: zebra finches, budgies, an old rosella parrot, bunnies and a kitten with an ear infection.
I don't have much experience with cats and ferrets but I like all animals. I have met two awesome cats via pawshake, but besides a two meter high boiler, our house lacks good vantage points for cats.
My understanding of pet sitting, is to provide a little extra spoiling and fun for your pet while you’re away so that it doesn’t miss you awfully and you don’t feel guilty for having a good time.
A little life update:
Since Jan 18 there’s a baby in the house! February and March are unavailable because of this and I hope by mid spring we will figure out a more steady schedule and see what kind of walks , trail runs, hikes and boat rides we can accommodate :)
If we’ve met already, feel free to chat and drop by for a visit :)
If we haven’t, and you have a very high-energy or easily stressed pet, maybe I’m not the best fit right now.
Niki is probably the best possible dogsitter in Helsinki area! She is very good with dogs and a lovely person.
We were lucky enough to get Niki to take care of our small poodle girl during an unexpected trip to overseas. Niki provided outstanding care and the communication was excellent throughout the stay. We will definitely ask Niki to look after our girl in the future as well - thank you!
